My other horse, also known as the Honda Civic, has gone 55K miles without needing a lick of maintenance outside of an oil change.
So I couldn't really complain when the breaks started to squeak and it was evident that I needed new pads. I found a mechanic with fabulous Yelp ratings really close to my office so I stopped by this morning.
It is funny that I don't even blink at writing a check for the schooling show this weekend but cringe a little as I hand over my debit card for car work. Priorities.
Horse people..... sigh! My car is currently in need of a little work, but I keep thinking of how many shows I could go to, or new boots I could buy with the same money!
ReplyDeleteMy car is in constant need of new brakes/rotors for some reason haha. So I simply learned how to do it all myself - saves a lot of money!
ReplyDeleteYou and me both. Hoping my car continues maintenance free for a bit longer!
ReplyDeleteSchooling show this weekend?!
ReplyDeleteI am the same exact way and my car is pushing over 210k miles! Total workhorse and I love the thing, but come on... car I don't want to change your oil when I can go buy a bag of grain or something!
ReplyDeleteHahaha love it! Hubby used to be a mechanic (for 8 years) so thankfully our car maint is just parts cost :)
ReplyDeletelol agree...we also have a civic...Civic nation :)
